Outlaws in 4K/Ultra Resolution with Full Ray Tracing Effects

Ubisoft has recently lifted the review embargo for their upcoming game, Star Wars: Outlaws. This highly anticipated title has been generating a lot of buzz in the gaming community, and fans are eager to get a glimpse of what the game has to offer. To give players a sneak peek, Ubisoft has shared some stunning 4K screenshots from the PC version of the game, showcasing the game running on an NVIDIA RTX 4090 with all its Ray Tracing effects.

To capture these breathtaking screenshots, the team used top-of-the-line hardware including an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, 32GB of DDR5 RAM at 6000Mhz, and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 4090. Running on Windows 10 64-bit with the GeForce 560.94 WHQL driver, the game looks absolutely stunning in 4K resolution.

One interesting aspect to note is that Star Wars: Outlaws does not feature a built-in benchmark tool, unlike Ubisoft’s previous titles such as Avatar. This means that for benchmarking purposes, the team had to rely on the first city area in the game, which is populated with numerous NPCs, providing a good test for both the CPU and GPU performance.

On the PC platform, Star Wars: Outlaws supports ray-traced shadows, reflections, and NVIDIA’s RTXDI technology. RTXDI helps render light samples in a scene with physical accuracy, while also allowing players to adjust the quality of the Ray Tracing BVH. Additionally, the game supports DLSS 3, further enhancing the visual fidelity of the game.

While the PC version is still a work in progress, Ubisoft has assured players that they will be bringing additional improvements to the game via a day-1 patch. This means that the final version of the game may see further enhancements and optimizations, ensuring a smooth and immersive gameplay experience.

In terms of performance, the review build of Star Wars: Outlaws appears to be on par with other games that utilize multiple Ray Tracing effects. To achieve framerates between 75fps and 100fps at 4K/Ultra settings with Ray Tracing enabled, the team had to run the game with DLSS 3 Quality Mode and Frame Generation. This performance level is in line with expectations for a game of this caliber.

It’s worth noting that the review build of the game includes the Denuvo anti-tamper technology, with the executable file being over 500MB in size. Despite this, the team did not experience any stutters during gameplay, at least in the first big city area. Further testing in more open-world environments will provide a more comprehensive assessment of the game’s performance.

Ubisoft is set to release Star Wars: Outlaws on August 30th, much to the excitement of fans eagerly awaiting its arrival. With stunning visuals, immersive gameplay, and promising performance, Star Wars: Outlaws is shaping up to be a must-play title for fans of the franchise and gamers alike.

In conclusion, the 4K screenshots shared by Ubisoft offer a tantalizing glimpse into the world of Star Wars: Outlaws, showcasing the game’s stunning visuals and advanced Ray Tracing effects. As we eagerly await the game’s release, these screenshots serve as a promising preview of what players can expect when they dive into the galaxy far, far away. Stay tuned for more updates and information on this highly anticipated title.
